Words by Rizzoli:
For more than two decades, legendary British photographer David Yarrow has created evocative images of some of the world’s most iconic personalities, sporting moments and endangered wildlife. The images in this book alone have generated nearly $40 million and raised more than $6 million for charities, making him one of the most relevant and best-selling photographers in the world.
In Storytelling, Yarrow takes his work to the next level through tales of adventure and misadventure on an epic scale. This stunning volume is a retrospective of Yarrow’s storytelling work, which has earned him even wider acclaim in the fine-art market. This assemblage of truly unmatched work brings the magic and brilliance of the big screen to still photography. Inspired by the great film directors, Yarrow tells his own cinematic stories - from the wide-open vistas of the American West to the beaches of the Caribbean, from the coasts of Alaska to the plains of Africa, and from the Sea of Cortez to an old saloon in Montana. Whether poignant, dramatic, or provocative, the images are always magnificent.
The book features a mix of more than 130 never-before-published and already iconic photographs, including work from assignments with some of the biggest names and brands in fashion, sports, and culture, such as Cindy Crawford, Cara Delevingne, Russell Wilson, Ciara, Alessandra Ambrosio and Gary Player. This stunning new collection of images, paired with behind-the-scenes photographs and Yarrow’s first-person contextual narratives, offers insights into a man who can never be categorized and who will never accept second best in his relentless pursuit of excellence.

ON MY JOURNEY, I INCREASINGLY USE MY CAMERA TO TELL STORIES AS OPPOSED TO TAKE PICTURES. TO THE EXTENT THAT ART SHOULD BE INTERPRETATIVE RATHER THAN LITERAL; THIS IS A PROGRESSION.

David Yarrow
This 368 page photography book, showcases 150 of my strongest images from the years prior to its publication. The book is available now. \n \nThe book features a foreword written by global NFL star Tom Brady and an afterword written by American cultural icon Cindy Crawford. All royalties from this book will be donated to conservation charities Tusk in the UK. \n \n“There are no universal rules in photography—only personal ones. My central premise is that if photography was a language, then focus would be the most important word in that lexicon. Focus deliberately includes or it deliberately excludes, and it should be emphatically clear what the photographer is trying to say.” – David Yarrow. \n \nAll copies purchased through David Yarrow Photography, come with a digitally signed elephant print entitled, “The Clubhouse”, featured to the right (print comes unframed, 6" x 13").Regular price £139.00 GBPRegular priceUnit price / perSold out -

Encounter
The Encounter Book is a collection of 87 powerful black and white photographs of wildlife and indigenous communities. The rich imagery in the book is accompanied by David’s contextual narrative, which unearths stories from his trips to some of the most remote corners of the globe. We learn of his penchant for using scents to lure Kenyan wildlife towards his camera lens, his face-to-face confrontation with a brown bear in Alaska and the patience and resolve required to capture his iconic picture of a Great White Shark in False Bay, Cape Town.
The book successfully conveys David’s appetite to get both physically and spiritually close to the personalities of dangerous animals and isolated communities; he is not afraid to go that extra mile.
African imagery is at the heart of Encounter and 10% of all of David Yarrow Photography’s sales go to Tusk Trust; an organisation that funds wildlife conservation, community development and environmental education programmes across Africa (www.tusk.org). This 176-page large-scale book is a luxurious addition to anyone’s coffee table.Regular price £0.00 GBPRegular priceUnit price / perSold out
